AGES RECREATED WITH THEATRICAL NOTES AND PERIOD DANCES

15th CENTURY

Time of beginnings, time of restart. The beginning of a dynasty and the resumption of a kingdom that, having overcome the dangers of Castille, is now embarking on a new adventure: the Maritime Expansion.

Ceuta was planned in Sintra. In Sintra, D. João I, unites the people, relaunches the culture and opens the kingdom to new fashions… And it will be in the noble Paço de Sintra, that Jan van Eyck painted the portrait of Isabel de Avis when she was married to Duke Philip of Burgundy.

16th CENTURY

The riches from all over the world, brought in by the ships of Vasco da Gama and Afonso de Albuquerque, arrived in the kingdom. They came from the Americas and Asia, the Indian Ocean and Africa. Portugal is the centre of the world and open to all people and all fashions, reigning King D. Manuel I at the time. It is the time of master Gil Vicente and his plays. 17th CENTURY

20th CENTURY - 30 YEARS

The arising musical style becoming popular in the mid-1930s was swing, a style of jazz suitable for dancing and soon adopted to motivate the population (crushed by the recession since the New York Stock Exchange crash in 1929) to consume and have fun .
